Customer Operation Guide

Welcome to the Pond Kinetics ecosystem. Your Bio-Reactor Pro is a fully automated, commercial-grade biological filtration system. It actively monitors your pond, manages your air supply, and automatically cleans itself so you never have to.

This guide will show you how to read your smart dashboard and control your daily cleaning schedule.

1. READING YOUR DASHBOARD

During normal operation, your OLED screen displays the real-time health of your system:

  • TEMP: The current water temperature of your pond.

  • AIR: Displays [ OK ] when your air pump is successfully pushing oxygen to your bacteria.

  • PURGE: Shows the exact time your system will perform its daily automated cleaning cycle (e.g., 02:00).

  • TIME: The current 24-hour system clock.

2. THE CONTROLS

Your Bio-Reactor Pro is operated using the two stainless steel buttons on the front of the control box:

  • [MENU] Button (Left): Use this to enter the settings menu, step through the options, and save your choices.

  • [ACTION] Button (Right): Use this to scroll through numbers in the menu, or to trigger a manual cleaning cycle from the main dashboard.

3. HOW TO TRIGGER A MANUAL WASH

If you want to clean your filter immediately, or simply want to show the system off to a friend:

  1. From the main dashboard, press and hold the [ACTION] button for 3 seconds.

  2. The screen will display INITIATING PURGE.

  3. The system will automatically divert the air to violently boil the media for 30 seconds, knocking dead bacteria loose.

  4. The system will automatically flush the dirty water out of the waste valve for 15 seconds.

  5. The system will reset itself and return to normal operation. You do not need to press anything else.

4. SETTING THE CLOCK & CLEANING SCHEDULE

Your system is factory-set to automatically clean itself every night at 02:00 AM. If you wish to change the system time or the daily cleaning hour:

  1. Enter the Menu: Press the [MENU] button once. The screen will say "Set Current Hour" and the hour will flash.

  2. Change the Hour: Press the [ACTION] button until you reach the correct hour. Press [MENU] to confirm.

  3. Change the Minute: The screen will say "Set Current Min". Press [ACTION] to find the correct minute. Press [MENU] to confirm.

  4. Set the Cleaning Time: The screen will say "Set Purge Time". Press the [ACTION] button to select the hour you want the daily automated wash to happen.

  5. Save & Exit: Press [MENU] one final time. Your settings are now permanently saved, even if there is a power cut.

5. WINTER & MEDICATION MODE (Turning Auto-Clean OFF)

If you are adding expensive medication to your pond that needs to sit for several days, or if the winter temperatures have stopped your Koi from feeding, you can easily disable the automated daily water flush.

  1. Press [MENU] three times to reach the "Set Purge Time" screen.

  2. Press the [ACTION] button to scroll the hour past 23:00 until the screen displays [ OFF / MANUAL ].

  3. Press [MENU] to save.

  4. Your dashboard will now read PURGE: MANUAL ONLY.

The system will no longer dump any water automatically. It will only clean the filter if you physically walk up and hold the [ACTION] button for 3 seconds.

6. SMART ALARMS

Your biological filter requires constant oxygen to survive. If your external air pump breaks or a hose falls off, the Bio-Reactor Pro will instantly detect the drop in pressure.

  • The dashboard will flash an [ AIR FAULT ] warning.

  • If you see this warning, check your air pump immediately to save your pond's ecosystem.
